What is JC Ranch?
Feb 23, 2006 --

Announcing the April “Grand Opening” of The Windmill House at JC Ranch.  Located in the heart of Chino Valley, Arizona on the property of JC Ranch.

Only 20 miles North of Prescott on Hwy 89, turn West on Road 4 North. In less than one mile, you will come across the entrance on the right.  Not to worry, you won’t miss this grand entrance because it is lush with pines and foliage and massive stone pillars that hold even more impressive iron gates.

Presented with a choice of three entrances, each one opens into the true vision of what is JC Ranch.

The entrance to the right will take you into Windmill Farms Nursery.  This nursery is Northern Arizona’s largest retail outlet for an enormous variety of trees and shrubs.

The entrance to the left brings you into what will soon be developed into the Estates and Villas of JC Ranch.

The center entrance will take you to the most extra-ordinary event facility in Northern Arizona, The Windmill House.

An elegantly lit drive, lush with trees and grass brings you to a gradual turn to the right and just then in the distance you will see The Windmill House casting a silhouette across a mirrored lake that looks for miles into Northern Arizona at the majestic snow capped San Francisco Peaks.

From the drive in to the last dance, The Windmill House will capture your attention. The detail of  architectural beams, stone fireplaces that reach into the sky, a modest 5000 square foot ballroom, an impressive band stage adorned with a 10 foot windmill wheel dating back to the late 1800’s,  this facility stands alone in its category.

State of the art sound, lighting, and plasma tv’s surround a hardwood dance floor.  At its center just above your head, a call back to the days of disco, a two foot mirrored ball will reflect the smiles on all of your guest’s faces.  With each step across two foot squares of travertine flooring, the facility continues to reach out and grab your attention. Along the North wall, a mirrored backdrop of glassware reflects a 25 foot granite bar.  From a shaken martini to a cold draft beer, this bar can accommodate hundreds of your guests.  Before leaving the ballroom, you can’t help but notice the 18 wrought iron chandeliers.  Each one,  four foot tall and in true Tuscan style, hangs from the ceiling lid at 14 feet above the floor.  A hallway takes you from the ballroom to the swinging double wood doors of the kitchen.  Not “just a kitchen”, a commercial kitchen fully equipped with all of its walls wrapped in stainless steel up to 8 feet in height. From here, back into the hall leads you to the public restrooms.  Encased in natural stone from the floor up, the walls are highlighted by a glass tile border and the sinks lay in a field of granite.

Do you still want more?

Leaving the main building and walking across the enormous concrete paver patio, to your left is a 6 foot long built in, stone faced, gas barbeque.  Are you ready for a  ho-down?  Why not, just across the patio is an outdoor stage with plenty of area for dancing.

Plan ahead and you can spend the night in their cottage.  With a lake view from your front porch and your own kitchen to prepare breakfast, you will find all of the comforts of home. Before you checked out, did you have fun fishing and enjoy your trip around the lake in the paddle boat?

The Windmill House sits on the apron of a 3 acre man-made lake.  In the center is a boulder mound of rocks from which a flow of water jets out up to a height of 50 feet.  The pines and willows circle around and lead to an arch bridge that welcomes you to the gazebo island.  A perfect spot for a picnic or a wedding ceremony.  The grounds are manicured and welcoming.  A photo opportunity welcomes you at every turn.
